How a Facebook ad changed my life

When I was young(er) my biggest dream was to become a news anchor. To tell stories.

When I was 17 I started my own tv-show on TV2 Lorry. It was called 90 for everyone born in the ’90s. The show was about new artists, young entrepreneurs, and pranking grown-ups. I co-hosted with one of my best friends.

After the show and still in high school, I got a part-time job at TV2 News as a runner. It was an inspiring time and also a time when I felt a sudden urge to start wearing blazers. It felt like I was in the bullseye of storytelling. After graduating, I did many small runner jobs and even took a detour as a salesperson selling OOH Media. Not my thing and the blazer came off.

I turned 20. I traveled the world. I went to a full moon party. I came home and went back to scrolling on Facebook. I saw an ad and clicked on it. It was for Reklamelinjen. An advertising night school focusing on storydoing, ideas, and network. I enrolled and the school opened my eyes to advertising. And I haven’t closed them since. Compared to news and television, I learned that there are endless ways of telling stories and communicating messages in advertising.

Magical.

At 22 I applied to Kreativ Kommunikation at The Danish School of Media and Journalism. And I got in! Three years with creative victories, struggles, nights-turning-into-mornings, competitions, a gazillion post-its, and friends for life. While doing all of the above I was an intern at Nord DDB and Bates VMLY&R in Copenhagen with my former creative partner Stina Fie.

After graduation in 2021, we were offered a job at Envision. A Danish advertising agency with open-hearted people, pink walls, and really good coffee.

At the beginning of 2022, I started at Tekstlinjen. Reklamelinjens little sister - a night school dedicated to agency copywriters and word-nerds, just like me!

After working at Envision for about a year I’ve got the urge to travel once again. This means I’ve just spent 12 months traveling the world, learning everything school doesn’t teach you.

Now I’m ready to write and boy, do I have stories to tell.
